Okay got a chance once again to do another UTEC tune on a 350z. This time it was on a 350z NA, but with a couple of bolt ons.

Here is the list of items the car had at the time of the tune:Borla td, ur crank pulley, NGK iridium IX plugs, Popcharger, JWT clutch and flywheel, Topspeed headers, Megan Racing test pipes, Motordyne lower collector and 5/16 spacer, 3.9 Central 20 gears.

Thanks Robert for trusting us with your ride. Look forward to the NOS tune in a few weeks.

did you do a baseline? seem a bit low for the cubic dollars of mods it's got

yeah, the baseline that we have seen on these cars is around 225-231 depending on the weather and condition of the engine. So given 231 that's gonna give him a +35 whp. This is on a Dyno Dynamics Machine so you can figure out the numbers on a DynoJet.

the only local dyno that fits my narrow 240Z is a mustang, I guess the stock equipment is so well developed on the Z33's there's only minor gaines to be had on each component

we had a local guy with a 240Z did the lightweight flywheel, header and a little intake work and picked up 30 whp but I guess it's just that almost 40 year old technology had a lot top be gained, keep in mind with all the mods he's now up to 150whp so that 30whp is a 25% increase

Those are high numbers for a DD dyno. That would put it at 300whp dynojet numbers which is highly unlikely for the mods listed. Stock 350z's on a DD dyno usually make around 200whp. I dont think simple breathing mods and a tune make over 60 hp. I think it may be outputting dynojet numbers which lots of folks do. Not trying to be an ***, but just dont want anyone to get false hope.

Edit- I will dyno mine on Feb 10th on a DD dyno. and post results.

Awesome, let us know how your DD test goes will love to know how it pans out.

At the end of the day its not what number is displayed, is if there is a gain from the last time the customer was there due to the next well planned mod and tune. So for the guys down here the best result is knowing that they can bring us their Z33 and we can make them just that little bit faster. You want a number that is worth talking about its can be found at the end of the 1320.
