I'm sure it's on here somewhere, but after searching for a while I could not find anything about removing the 350z door handles. I have a black '08 Enthusiast and wanted to paint my door handles black. If anyone knows how to remove the door handles, or already has, would you be kind enough to link me some pictures or instructions?

-Thanks!

You can search through the appropriate FSM:

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/350Z/

It's probably in the body/trim section.

And welcome to NICO

The FMS's have what you need. I'm sure someone else who has dealt with the handles will pop in at some point.

Driver door...1. open door2. locate & remove 2 rubber grommets right behind door handle.3. unbolt the 2, 10mm bolts holding the door handle in.4. pull up & out on the door handle to reveal that it is attached by 2 metal rods.5. flip the yellow or pink clip up to release the metal rod.6. unbolt the electronic key lock.

Passenger door...1. same except there are no metal rods to disconnect & no electronic lock done.2. there is a rod that goes into the linkage that is all. Just remove the rubber grommets & take the nuts off the studs that are made into the handle, lift up & turn a bit & they are off. 3. no need to take the door panel off at all.4. be very careful not to drop the screws down the door.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the instructions, but I went outside that day and figured it out. It was a lot easier than I thought. I am very happy with how it came out. The black on black looks very nice . Can't wait to get the rims done!

Sorry for the delay. Holidays were busy and my internet sucks so I had trouble uploading pictures. If you want different angles just let me know. I know these pics aren't the greatest.

I was thinking about doing a little LED project with the handles, so this would be neat to try black paint to go along with it...

That's a pretty neat idea. How would you do it? I think it would be cool if you had a slight glow under the handle. Which, now that you mention it, I might do because I can't see my door handles at night anymore....

I would like to see some pictures when you complete it!

I like that. I would like to put a red glow under the handle itself. Not to bright, just a little glow. I think that would look cool as well.
