It better not be. Remember, the 240 was marketed towards women...

I don't think that it is a chicks car, but I have only seen 1 guy driving one. Usually it is middle aged women that I see driving them.

It may turn out to be a chick car for some wierd reason though, just because only chicks seem to be driving them. Come on guys, go buy a 350Z.

Most guys are busy buying big trucks, for whatever reason.

(most of them cost more than the Z33, I might add).

I would have bought a 350z if i had that much money. But im a poor, currently unemployed guy on a 240sx budget. I love my car though, and its more satisfying that going to a dealer and getting a new car that invovles no real work to make it nice.

Chicks can dig it. Women drive lifted Super Duty Fords too. Hey, I met a bike chick not too long ago. Does that mean sportbikes are chickbikes?

If you think about it, is it really a bad thing if chicks like Z's? I mean think about it. You could find a total babe, only to find out she drives a Z. Is that a bad thing? HELL NO!!!!!

In my opinion its a very disappointing car. Looks are decent but the hype was too much, it didn't revloutionize anything in the sports car word as Nissan said it would. It's just another sports car nothing special about it.

f1seb. If the new Z is a disappointment and "just another sports car nothing special about it" , of the new cars out there, what do you consider a special yet affordable sports car?

Well, like big jon, I bought one of those disappointing, nothing special Z's, and am quite satisfied.

Just because chicks drive it doesnt make it a "chicks car." Where I live I see wpmen driving around in everything from z3's, M3"s, to porsches, does that make them "chick cars?" I mean chick cars are jettas and vw cabrios, not sports cars.

If its a chick's car, and there's a guy driving it, then more chicks for him. What's the problem here?

The 240sx was initially a chick's car, but as the young enthusiast and ricer crowds begin to see it more guys are buying it. I have seen about an equal number of men and women driving 350z's, but at college I always see young, rich chick's whose daddy bought it driving them... I really need to meet them :naughty

Girls get bored of cars fast. After a few years the Z enthusiasts will start to buy out all of the 350z's, and girls will find another "cute" car.

The new Evo and the WRX Sti, is what's I consider a better buy. The 300zx back in the day was a car. Twin Turbo and you mod it a bit and that thing was fast as hell. I don't even like the rummors about the new "supra" cause if putting in a V6 into a sports car is what the new wave of the future is then let me tell you that sucks. Plus with the kind of power the current Z has it should be running faster times.

And please tell me what is soo special about that car? I drove it and I found nothing exhilirating about it, the s2000 was a fonder drive then the Z.

What's so special about the 350Z? Other than it being very attractive, very good handling, comfortable, fast (and normally aspirated), RWD, reliable, and inexpensive, I guess nothing special. (snicker) You're nuts if you think it's an ordinary car. It's an extremely fun car to toss around a track. There are very few cars that meet ALL of that criteria I just listed. The other cars you mentioned are all are fine cars in their own way, but each has its own strengths/weaknesses.

The 350Z's weaknesses are lack of luggage room, that cheap door latch in the console if you don't order the navigation system, and it's not a particularly good bad weather car. But it's a value that's hard to beat.

STi/EVO are fast and fun cars, and I like them, but they are not attractive. Sorry, the ugly wings and multiple scoops looks ricey. and Mitsubishi's are not known to be as reliable as Nissans.

I've actually driven an S2000. While I enjoyed it a lot, I felt it had to be flogged to go fast. Z has much more low end grunt. That flogging is kinda fun on a track, but an annoyance on the street. Also too stiffy sprung for use as a commuter. I also think the dash is tacky. But if you prefer an S2000 over a Z, that's fine. Handles like a go-cart, and has probably the best feeling transmission out there.

I also liked the previous generation twin turbo Z, but guess what?it cost more than the new 350Z when it was new and doesn't handle as well.

You talk about modding the other cars, but not a 350Z. Modding a 350Z would create a godzilla. Personally I'm content with exploring its limits stock, which are already beyond most drivers skills anyway.

I don't consider the aerodynamic spoilers that actually work ricey. I think they look good, the 350z isn't as appealing to everybody in looks as it is to you or other 350z owners. The STi's looks are a bit weird but it's been much improved, but the aggressive look of the EVO is hands down nice. As for reliability it's still too early to tell. Cargo space in a sports car, there should be no complaints, it's a sports car none needed there except the room for passangers. I'm just saying with all the hype that was pushed behind this vehicle and the outcome of it...leaves me somewhat not impressed as much as the Evo or the Sti do, but that's me, I'm just glad it doesn't resemble the concept too much, cause that thing was so ugly it was upsetting to the stomach to see it.

We'll agree to disagree I guess. But I think you are in the minority thinking an EVO/Sti are more attractive. For the record, I love the fact that the EVO wings are functional and adjustable, BUT since so many teenagers stick on cheapo oversized non-functional crap that look similar, it looks ricey until you look closely enough and realize it's the real deal. It's a shame but it's true. The lack of cargo in a sports car is an issue for guys that take their "sports" cars to the track. If I want to bring track tires along, gotta wear them (which is bad if it rains), trailer the car (which requires a trailer and big enough tow vehicle) or coax a friend to bring them. I've been using street tires, which get slippery far earlier than track tires, but that's also fun when they do. The lack ofluggage is just an annoyance, but the benefits of owning that Z more than outweigh its annoyances.

Good luck.
