Tell me what you guys think of this: http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperListLanding.aspx
I stumbled upon this while I was researching how to convert stock 350z brakes to the track Brembo ones. Correct me if I am wrong the 2006 models are the ones with larger rotors right?

Here are the questions I need an answer to:
1. Why would I spend over $1000 for a used pair of brembo calipers when I can get some newer calipers for less?
BTW I called nissan asking how much it would cost to buy a brand new caliper and they told me it would be 1000 dollars just for a single caliper :wtf2:
!! So if it would cost this much I would rather get some proper stoptech or the akebono kits (I want to avoid this because it needs wheel spacers, or I would have to get a set of wheels which defeats the point of the Nismo shops price:$1,499.25+wheels= expensive)

2.What other things do I Need?
I know I would have to replace things like the fluid, pads, and trim the rear dust shield (if I really want to go crazy with the dust shield I know a guy who could extend the shield for me... but I wouldn't go through the trouble)...on top of this I would get some stainless steel break lines because so many people recommend it.

BTW I know that BBK aren't really for shorter stopping distance but they are more for heat tolerance on the track so I 'm just going to focus on that.
People who have a 4 to 8 grand block of cash to spend on brakes (I'm soo jealous of you guys :dblthumb: ) are the ones that need them... I can't really spend that much on brakes. Any way I'm not trying to be a track day "HERO" I just want to be able to enjoy the track without thinking: "OHHHHHH SH*T NOOOO BRAKES... I'M NOT STOPPING!!" :ohno:

Wilwood makes some good stuff, just not hugely popular in the import scene. I was going to go with a Wilwood setup on my S13 ages ago then the Z came into play and the S13 took a backseat.

Here's a Wilwood based setup for the 350Z from ArizonaZCar, the same place where I was going to get my S13 setup. Another option is to get a set of 350Z/G35 Brembos from FeeBay and have them rebuilt.

I remember looking at some wilwood products before and I did notice that their set ups are relatively inexpensive compared to the "famous" Brembo brand and the stoptech brands. I think these two brands are like the high end products but wilwood seems to work just as well.
BTW don't any of you think the Brembo Logo looks a lot like the Beats headphone logo...
Image..hmmmm

I happen to be wearing my headphones while helping my friend bleed his brakes and he noticed the logo is very similar.

Anyway the calipers is what interests me... apparently wilwood say you can fit them on the oem stuff... :werd:
Thanks for the reply
