I'm sure the 350Z would drift fine. But IMHO it's too nice and expensive a car to waste by beating the living crap of it drifting in a dang parking lot. Besides, you don't need much horsepower to drift. That's why a an old beater $1500 240sx is a much better choice. The 240 is also cheap to buy and cheap to fix when things start breaking. And drifting will make things break much faster. The 350Z is better suited to a road race track where you can stretch it legs and see what it's really capable of doing.

There is a dude that drifts a 350Z at http://www.dgtrials.com events, im pretty sure its stock with the exception of some suspension work.

You dont need 400hp to drift, just a RWD car thats cheap to fix and modify.

I've watched and ridden with BlueZ33 while he was drifting his, the car is more than capable in stock form. JIC uses one as their drift car, and so does RS*R.

MotoRex also sponsors the JIC drift car... it's in the shop being repaired now and having a few more "goodies" installed.... it is supercharged as well...

and you should jezter ! i cry like an old woman every night falling asleep because I want a 350z .. ! great car you have.

straight from the mag:NOPI Street Performance CompactFeb./Mar Issue 2004

2003-2004 350z(Z33)

These have the potential to be good drifters. They're relatively lightweight, and they boast quick steering and a tight suspension to start with. But they're still new and expensive, and the aftermarket is still in its infancy.

I drift in my maxima .... LOL ! From one dragway to the next ! ha !

How you guys think 350Z as Drift Car?

(I know it's not impossible, supra can and even skyline can with good driver.)

I know this car is kind of heavy but has power. Here's my thought.

I think about Performance model (refer to Nissanusa.com). and from Nismo

-Brembo Brake -Suspension -exhaust -LSD -and more stuff...

Also TT kit from Greddy...

So it's gonna be around more than 400HP with little more than $40000 budget...

it was my thought and

What do you think 350Z as a drift car... I know your experience

or opinion... generally...

:pface I didn't mean I have money to do this I am just imagining.

I don't know too many things and don't have money.

yeap thanks.

I am just curious :) Also TT is cool... though actually this isn't needed...(400hp+ = it's cool... for me though this isn't necessary too):D

I luv 240sx.. :icesangel

even though I have money, I will stick with 240sx now350z is for when I am getting old more...

now I am hoping just stop snowing and fix my car and selland get 240sx...

My dad has a 350z, I drive it all the time. If you drove one, you'd realize that the cars suspension and torque make it perfectly capable of drifting. It is a hell of a car.

Yeah, I've seen a 350Z drifter too. It was hella sick. But I agree with Bubba 1, it's way too nice to abuse like that!

Actually that guys car from dgtrials, has a ATI Procharger setup. That is around 400hp to the crank. He is a really good drifter too. The Z is awsome for drifting, since its capable in stock form it only gets easier with suspension mods. It could use the extra power too.

I dont feel like clicking on any of the links mentioned above, but what about the silver 350z with a vertex kit and carbon fiber hood? I have seen him in a few videos and seems really good.

the 350z from the dgtrails, is that the black one with the dented fender. I went to one last Oct and i couldn't believe this guy was driving a 350z like he was. He was just tossing it all over the place, very well too.

Drifting a z33 is like taking a brand new chevy 2500 hd offroad (sorry im a georgia boy). Stuff will break... so use a beater that you wont care about messing up, unless your going for show.

the silver vertex kit was probably chris, before the sr was put in his z, then he ahd ings for abit and now he has cwest since hes driving for motorex.

if I was good at it, I'd drift my 350z, as soon as I sell my 240 ill start working on it. I do canyon runs and people consider those dangerous, I wouldnt buy a sports car unless I was prepared to drive the hell out of it.
