I just got the wheels last night and I am stoked! I've been looking day and night for these wheels and I got em for a very good price with tires. It is scratched up some so that will need to be painted (silver) So, time for the questions:

1) I wanted to just test drive these things, get a feel for them and see how they look on the car. With that said, will this screw up my TPS sensor? Will it show the light?

2) I know it wouldn't make sense to run a staggered set up, but like I said, since I wanna get a feel for them for now, will 245/40/18 rub or do anything fishy?

3) I hear tire shops charge to remove the TPS sensor from one wheel to the other. Would anyone recommend that or should I just ride without it? I guess on a personal matter, I could live without it. I just hate having unwanted lights displayed on my cluster.

As always, thanks for the help guys. Can't wait to snap some shots for you all of these wheels.

TPS suck roll without them, no reason to run extra weight in the wheel for an idiot light.

So then the idiot light will show up without them I take it. Would there be any way to clear it without it?

I too am having 350Z wheels installed this Monday; the anniversary wheels are by far the best looking 350Z wheel, but I went with the 02-05 Rays “Track” wheels due to wheel weight. Alphapig do you happen to know what the sensors weight apiece, because you've got me considering having valve stems install instead if it's another pound or two removed. Dang TMPS’s never work and seem to crap out pretty quick anyways; I wish I had the guts to get into the instrument panel and remove the dang bulb, because to answer your question mikethemike I think there is nothing you can do about the light other then pull the bulb if that's even possible (may be an LED soldered in). With an 18lbs. wheel and a 21lbs. tire that should mean that I've shed about 11lbs. per wheel / tire.

Well the weight of the sensor shouldnt be a problem. being that its a sensor I'm sure it weighs next to nothing. Unless.....

any pics of those wheels?

and yes you'll have to pay the tire shop to move the sensors, I paid $100 for mounting, balancing and sensor replacement.

Not the best shot but here you go

Im in a dilemma, I dont know how to go about painting these wheels. I wider tires have enough tread to drive on, but then i'd be running a staggered set up. So I dunno if I should just buy two tires for the rear that match the front. If I do, then I will have two new tires and then two used tires, so I suppose I can just put the new ones on front and go without rotating them longer so I can get to a somewhat close even wear.

As for painting the wheels, I want to restore them to the stock color, so I figured for the time being maybe using that plastidip stuff. I dont know if I'd have to sand the wheels for that.

For now, I'm just trying to get as much use out of these tires I have on right now. Still brand new.

Powdercoating is your best bet. Plastidip will always give you a flat finish w/e color you go with. and you don't have to sand the wheels, just use a good wheel cleaner, let it dry, and you're good to go.

and those wheels look hot, nice job.

Thanks man, I definitely will get them powdercoated, I'm just aching to put them on my car and the plastidip is just so i can see what it could potentially look like without the scratches. Either way, I cant wait to put these on my car. I'm not much for aftermarket wheels, however there are some I would love to get my hands on, particularly some of the Volk wheels.

Like alphapig says TPS suck, besides the light on the dash is a reminder to check my pressure 1-2 times a month.
