Hi I am new here and have read most topics on the Pathfinder. I like Nico much so broke my rule of not doing forums. I have 2002 4wd.

Anyway I have a vibration that comes always around 3250 to 3500 and i would appreciate any assistance on what it can be. I have done heat shield removal and that stopped another rattle, but not this one.

I checked harmonic balancer and it does not shake as I rev it up in park.Engine mounts fine. Belts correct. Wheel bearings new. Tires newer and aligned.

It doesn't seem to do this major vibration in park. My drive shafts do not wiggle when I pull on them. But... the CV joints have some slop, no clicking or anything. Not sure if this is usual. Thanks whoever can help.

It could be a worn transmission mount, it could be an internal transmission problem. Worn planetary rings or something of the sort. I would take it in to a shop and see waht they can tell you.

I think this is pretty common in the pathys with the vq35 motor. Mines an 03 and it does the same thing, when the truck is between 3200 and 3600 rpm it has a slight vibration throughout the truck, I personally think its just cause the engine is reaching its peak torque.

Thanks All,I hear that it is common, but I am still thinking it is something more. This vibration is up front somewhere, like a dampener.

The trans mount might be a good start. It seems hard to see well since I was down there today doing pan and filter. I was happy to see it spotless inside, which is always a joy when buying a used. transmission seems nearly identical to the Infiniti q45 i did a few days ago on internals. Interesting. Mobil 1 in so now i am good.

Rubber mounts starting to look a little tired. Man, between the Q and this, I do lots of work on Nissans. But I love them. They are not maint. free for sure. But it is a tougher and faster than the Toyota 4Runner my cousin has with the same year and model, for 70% of the price.
