Very possible. Notice any 2nd gen rx7s with a small block 8. But your going to have to know what your doing. Your better off swaping a inline 6 with a couple of turbo chargers feeding it. but thats my opinion.

Well the small block is free and I have no money due to a recent speeding ticket for a RB swap.

if you have no money, then what the hell you doing trying to perform a swap...its going to be even more work with a engine that was never designed for that car. I mean, all the parts your replacing is problably from some american company. Alot of custom fab will need to be done...its not even worth it..

eh.. v8 swaps are becoming ever more popular but.. if u want to do a swap you will need more than a free small block to complete the swap heh..

I have all the parts needed and anything I don't have my friend can hook me up with em'. But when I do get enough money I'm gonna do a RB26DETT for my other S13.

whats up with all these chebby swaps in 240s anyway.. i mean its a great platform but.. honestly. stick to your own race .. we oughta use reverse psycology and get old muscle cars and put in massive Nissan V8's and turbo the hell out of them and see how those mothas like that. I was gonna do a RB26Dett swap but a friend said "Dude I've got a 350 small block for free and it would be the funniest damn thing to beat all of the muscle cars in an import at the strip!!!" The best thing is I could make some cash with a free setup so I said ahh what the hell it'll allow me the oppourtunity to learn more about engines.

We mothas would like it a lot.

Except it'd be SUPERcharged. Stroked VK56DER in a '64 impala would kick all kinds of ***.

A small block carburated would prolly be easier then an RB. Solid motor mounts can be made by most fabrication shops. A driveshaft would be no problem and you would not have to worry about wiring. Plus, it's cheaper when you blow your motor trying to show off. Think of the future .

Plus it looks like you have good clearance on either side. With the way the cylinder banks angle, I wonder if a turbo setup could squeeze in.

Wouldn't it be even more fun to beat them with an import engine? What happened to "I beat you with half the cylinders"?

Don't cross bread. If you want a V8 go VH That was just a test fit. The engine will be going into this chassis when it is done.

I agree, VH engine series for the win ! Never mind putting toyota/lexus (BLECH) motors into Nissans !

think about the car you want to create. the 240 is a nice chassis to start with, i agree. but i like small turbo engines. really, how light is the car going to be with a SB Chevy? not as light as with an SR i'm sure. and don't say "oh, i saw a SB Chevy/S13 that was 2500#. is your 240 2500#?" no, mine isn't. but it does have all factory interior and exterior parts, sway bars, bumper supports, factory glass, etc. i just mean drivetrain vs. drivetrain the small aluminum turbo 4-banger wins vs. iron V8. now maybe an aluminum fuel injected corvette engine, heck i would do that, but the SR was easy and affordable. also i have the potential to make similar dyno numbers to the C4 and C5 corvettes but still get my same 28mpg (untuned. will be better once i get the AFR up top above 9.0:1). and if you want to run against modded V8's, get an RB, but your polar moment of inertia is going to skyrocket i think with either a V8 or an RB. but if you don't know what that is then you probably won't mind, nor even notice a difference in handling.

Sorry to Rez(Rank 3) on this dead horse...

But I have several 350 Small blocks at my disposal from various vehicles, but internals swapped out for more horses etc...

I can save a lot of weight and time on the electronics - but what else should I prepare myself for when putting something such as this into my 240sx?

Wonder what will have to be modified and whether it would be worth it to pay $1000 total for the built motor, and drop it in with a custom drive shaft and start terrorizing the streets?

This crossed my mind when I saw a few offers of these engines go by - very cheaply, and parts for them are incredibly common.

Thanks a lot!HoGG
