After 12 tanks and about 4,000 miles, I was averaging around 30.5 mpg. My highest was 33.02, lowest was 26.67.

My last two tanks have been 35.9 & 35.53, and my current one is looking to be just as high or higher.

I did some poking around and saw that summer fuel might have something to do with it, but I'm wondering if there could be any other reason for this jump in mpg.

god I miss oregon.. well at least the north west

spring rain maybe less traffic/stop go driving? Shouldn't stop an Oregonian :p but still :p

get an intake w/ a valve for water.. as long as you prevent yourself from gassing the car it'll help your mileage and they are cheap

We got the summer fuel here now. I went from 350-375 to 400-425 at 3/4 tank mark. ~11 gallons.

I just filled up and on this last tank I got 36.93! Actually over the epa rating.

That's very impressive. And it is fitting justice for you since Oregon has the 3rd highest gas price in the continental US. I never quite understood that. I heard we (when I lived there) were dependent on one pipeline from Seattle but still, shouldn't our gas price be better than the land-locked states?

This is something you don't want to think about, it will blow your mind.

I mean, Bellingham has the highest gas prices in WA state. And Bellingham is where the freaking refinery is!

Whenever I see the phrase "will blow your mind" I think of Kramer making that statement on Seinfeld

Yes, Washington State is #4 for top gas price, right behind Oregon. Perhaps if they moved your refinery to South Dakota your gas prices would drop. (I am only half joking)

Do you guys have to pay for someone to pump your gas? That would be the only reason why it is so high. New Jersey adds at least $0.25/gallon for someone to pump their gas.

Check the gas price map out

Oregon requires a "fuel distribution technician" to fill your car, but Washington is almost 100% self-service. I have seen only one full-service gas station here in the last 20 years... it was in the Tri-Cities.

Geez, how in the hell are y'all getting this kind of mileage out of the V? I live in Virginia and my best so far has been about 25MPG, low fuel light comes on at about 265 miles...

Took the car to the dealer and they said they didn't see anything wrong, come back at 6000 miles if its still the same.

If you have quite a bit of stop and go driving, 25mpg is fairly normal. This car does weigh almost 2800lbs.

I'm not sure what's up with mine. My mpg didn't drop down during the winter months by much. I drive pretty fast and hard, but my mpg doesn't seem to want to get down any further than 30 for the highway when I drive that way. My guesses would be that I live in a pretty flat city, it doesn't get bitterly cold, and warms up fairly quickly.
