I have a s1 rb25det without any major upgrades, just the basic stuff to get the swap going and my goal is to make in the 320-350hp to the wheels. i had the car dyno'd last week and made 219hp which I think is right around where I should be right? that was on 90 octane pump and found out a few days later my boost solenoid wasnt functional. it might have gone out after the dyno but im pretty sure the dyno was only at about 5 psi. im going to be using torco from now on since 90 octane is the highest we can get out of the pump here in alaska unless i go for 104 for $9.50 a gallon or the 116 which I dont even know how much that is. I also will be purchasing an electronic boost controller planning to have it set at 10 or 11psi. what other mods can I do to get to my hp goal? im not sure which route I want to go yet and was hoping for some suggestions. id like to go the cheapest route if I can, i am on a limited budget. what I do have right now are:

Stock ECUFMICGreddy RS BOVWalbro 255 fuel pumpNismo FPRNismo TStatN1 Water Pump3" Downpipe w/ 3" piping straight to N1 Style mufflerHKS S30 Spark Plugs

nothing else comes to mind worth mentioning

I want to do a turbo upgrade but Im really unsure about it. those of you with turbo upgrades, what exhaust manifold did you go with? are there turbo upgrades available that would bolt in without a new manifold? would I be able to get to those hp goals with a turbo upgrade and a Power FC on stock injectors?

drop that factory ECU and get something better.. Big gains there.

As far as turbo upgrade goes, your not too far off after the ECU so a gt30 of some sort puts you there and gives you plenty of head room for more. 550cc injectors will do the trick

im most likely going to be getting a power fc. do those gt series turbos require a new manifold or can I use the stock setup

stock manifold will do, flanged for a T3 so smaller turbined turbos with t2 flanges wont fit.

Get a 3076R and keep your stock log manifold. New injectors will be required to get to that hp level though. Definitely get a standalone engine management system.

ANVIL, just a little heads up, be careful with the fuels. USUALLY anything over 100 octane has lead in it and it will mess up your 02 sensor. 90 octane is pretty crappy for a turbocharged car, your gonna have to do better than that with a bigger turbo.

I dont think I will be using any race gas. Probablly just the 90 with the torco should put me around 94ish range depending on how i mix it.

you guys got any good suggestions on where I can get a good gt turbo for decent price?

i'm going to recomend e85, but you need to upgrade the ecu AND injectors. i have a good friend who has been testing it on his 92-95 hatch and it's pulling more power than with c16 and e85 is only like $2.75 a gallon, your injectors are going to have to pull about 20% more duty with the e85 also.

Reaper, doesn't e85 require fuel line upgrades and things of that nature?

Evan

BTW, I know I can search google on this. Just wanted more specifics on your freinds setup.

e85 means new fuel lines, alcohol compatible pump and alcohol compatible injectors.ethanol is EXTREMELY corrosive, you cannot just start filling up on it and expect it to last...while it might work in the interim it wont last long.

open downpipe, turn the boost to 13-14 psi.. save money and get an mbc, get good gas, q45 maf, up the fuel pressure a few psi w/ an afpr, used safc. should be able to see close to 320 rwhp for < $500

yes it is corrosive, BUT, there are additives to help out with that. He has a 92-95 hatch with no fuel line upgrades, he did upgrade injectors though. Here is a direct quote from him on his setup. "i can tell you that my civic as well as several others have been running it since the begining of the year with no fuel system damage yet. i check my fuel filters weekly just to be safe and sure."

here's a link about him and his e-85 - http://www.ftwimports.com/viewtopic.php?t=195
