Anyone know what those wheels are? They are not the BBS, chromed, which were fitted to the t model.
Another thought is that the 1996's with OBD II did not have the intake cam advance (not sure why), but it does seem plausible with the on-the fly engine management that performance, especially at WOT, did not suffer as much as has been assumed.
If Dennis reads this thread, it would be interesting to hear his thoughts about the gains and lossses at various RPM and throttle opeinings of OBD I with variable intake cams vs. OBD II with no variable intake cams.
My bet is on Nissan, that peak horsepower didn't change that much. Some early torque at wide throttle openings might not be present, but with a fuel ratio not running so rich, these losses may be minimized at lower RPM and eliminated at higher RPM at WOT where lack of intake camshaft timing advance could be tuned out at peak RPM. In fact, I was wondering why someone was posting about chips on his 1996 when it is my understanding that none were made as there is little to gain by leaning fuel mixture on WOT with the more accurate fuel delivery of OBD II.
