this question has probably been asked millions of times but i searched and couldnt find an exact answer, i just bought rebuilt and painted 30mm calipers with rotors and pads for 200 and wanted to know if i could use a 5mm spacer on my oe 7 spokes allowing the wheels to clear, i figure if they clear the 26mm calipers, with a spacer they should clear the 30mm right, i dont know if it works that way though. can anyone help me out?

How much clearance do you have now? Measure it and see. IIRC, the 26mm calipers had to be used with a certain revision of the 7 spoke alloys that had a groove on the back of the spokes that allowed for the clearance. So the answer is maybe. It honestly wouldn't take you much to find out. Jack up your car, take a wheel off, take off the 2 19mm bolts holding the caliper on, bolt in the new caliper (doesn't have to be tight, just enough to hold it in place) and put your wheel back on and see how well it clears and guestimate the spacer size you need from there.

You might also want to consider ventilation. I don't think the SE's would give proper ventilation to the brakes.

i just looked and found out i do have the wheels that will fit the 26mm calipers, but since i bought the 30mm, i was just checking to see if a 5mm spacer would suffice for the upgrade, im sure the oe wheels will be fine until i upgrade to better wheels. thank you.
