whats the verdict on this, how many of you did it and where and how much $$?

im about 31k this month and gotta get this done, the dealer i bought my car from wants 539$. hefty , they seem to do a good amount of things:

flush transflush radiatorrotate tiresoil/filternew air filternew incabin filtersome sort of fuel & engine treatment? idk something along those lines, kinda sounded like some bulllllll to me. and of course all the "INSPECTING" etc.

i had the list of things estimated @ a local car place and they wanted about 400-450$ to do the list of things.

such i pay the extra price to get it done by the "dealer" or whats yall's view on all this? thankssss

I never go in for the regular maintenance packages on new cars but I always try to do the 30k one because that's the last major maintenance package before your warranty is up. I also ask them to do a once over on the car to see if they notice anything that may need to be fixed which is under warranty.

Honestly, $500 isn't much to get all that done just before you go out of warranty. Might save you more money down the road.

Flush trans? I take it you don't have a CVT then. Supposedly those don't need fluid service until like 100k.

To me a lot is a waste of money. I wouldn't do a transmission flush until 50k and would just test your coolant, if its good, leave it be. Air Filter, if its the original OEM one, definately needs to be replaced.

The incabin ones seem like the biggest rip off in the automotive industry, but that's an opinion.

In cabin is super expensive because of the labor and taking the dash apart to put it in - you can buy one for like $10 and do it yourself to save the $100 this usually is.

Looks like they are closer to $18-$20. But the main part of the ripoff is the labor and mechanic labor, especially at dealerships is outrageous. And is the reason I do most things myself.

Like Biggie said, $18-20 for the filter. Not sure what the book has on this, but it should not be more that .25 hours. 4 bolts ,remove the glovebox, remove filter, insert new filter, replace glovebox. Not a lot to it. I wouldn't want a mechanic that can't complete this in 15 minutes doing ANY work on my car.

Well you forget...you have to factor in 23 minutes for butt scratchin' and dippin'. Well, maybe not at a Nissan Dealership...but some other shops.

I recently replaced our cabin filter. Took about 10-15 minutes.

I got mine from here at just over $8. Fast delivery. Looks identical to OEM.

-In-cabin filter replacement: 20 minutes, a DIY for sure.

-Engine air filter replacement : 25 seconds, easiest filter replacement ever.

As for the rest I guess you should let your Nissan dealer do it because of the warranty. Always helps when something breaks.

I will only do what the service manual calls for. Most dealers have their own "recommended service" that far exceeds what Nissan calls for.
