why is the transmission fluid flush so expensive? Fluid is $9.15 per quart, but Infiniti charges $270 for the service. Will I lose anything by having someone else besides Infiniti do it? What about the coolant flush? Same thing...fluid is cheap but dealership service quote is over-the top.

Fluid is Nissan specific, so only available from the dealer.

Call around and ask.

Be sure to do brake fluid, PS fluid, differential fluid and all filters also.

Thanks. The $9.15 per qt. is the Infiniti price. I'm just trying to understand why the service charge so expensive at Infiniti. I am planning to buy the fluid and screen from Infiniti and let someone else do the work for 1/5 the price, but I don't want to miss something specific that Infiniti does when performing the flush. Also, besides air and fuel filters, which others need changing?

The only other one I can think of is the micro-filter that filters the air coming in to your A/C.

And seats if you have the ventilated ones. I understand that is quite labor intensive.
