302 Swap

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I want to know what I need to do to my car to put in a 302. I also want to know what rear end or diff will handle 500+hp and what axles to use. Feel free to add in anything that I forgot. My Car is a 91 240sx coupe.

The engine/transmission mounts will all be custom work. The DS will have to be fabbed as well, but you just need measurements for that. The stock R200 is plenty stout, however, you'll need a VLSD for sure. So swap in a 300ZX or J30 rear end.

OR a Q45/300zxTT rear with custom shortened axles. The Stock rear can take power, but the stock axles are iffy. The J30 axles are better, but the Q45 or 300ZX twin turbo are the one with the most beef to them. They need to be sized however.

The Q45 and 300ZX TT had different diffs.

The Q45 will fit as it is still an R200V with the right mix of a TT axle and Q45 axle.

The R230V in the TT Z32 will NOT work without modifying the subframe.

Stock...until you're making enough power to break them. Concentrate on getting the car on the road and all the bugs worked out before worrying about the axles and diff. They'll hold up longer than you might think.
