Alright guys im new on here and just looking for helpful tips. I am planning to do a 302 swap from my 78 f100 pickup into a 240. I am worried with the fitting of the engine and if i should use the 240s wiring harness or not. send helpful info please.

I think it is in your best interest and the interest of the rest of the 240sx community for you not to put that terrible engine into your NISSAN.

LOL @ Teddy's comment. I'm not a fan of V8's in 240's either, but I stopped caring some time ago.

Do not put that engine in a 240, it defeats the purpose of even having a 240.

Stick to Chevy and Ford

Haters will always hate!

A carbureted 5.0 240 would be really cool. I was actually pondering that swap for a while, I still kinda am. But I can't weld so I'm kinda sol there.

its his car who cares what motor he puts into it. think about it if everyone did the same thing would cars be any fun or unique? im sure it'll fit fine if people can fit 350s into them you can fit a 302 in it. i say go for it. be different. there good motors, very cheap and easy to get good power out of.

V8 swaps are cool I guess.. I just see the weight shift not being worth it. Pushing all that weight forward could wreak some havoc with that ratio. Why not look at an LS1 swap or something similar?

1. EVERYBODY is putting V8s in 240s. Therefore, this is now considered doing the same thing as everyone else.

2. There is a difference between being unique and being distasteful.

partially right everyone is swapping chevy small blocks into them. and really theres farrr less v8 swaps then say sr or rb going on. ive seen one v8 swap in person so on forums not so rare, but in person and around his area yes it probably is. and as for distasteful its 2010 what isnt anymore? its all opinion and mine is, if done right could be nice. now id prolly leave it efi and stay away from carb. but thats only because ive only messed with efi, except one car and hated it. but again its all opinion.

So now that it's 2010 it's acceptable to be distasteful?

If done right in a Mustang, it could be nice. Everyone seems to forget that they bought a NISSAN. If you want the power/torque specs of a muscle car soooo bad, then go buy a muscle car! Stop ruining these cars with your atrocious lack of culture.

Get off your high horse man.

If you love cars you would appreciate the amount of custom work required for such a swap, and you would also like/dislike engines for what they offer, not which company produces them.

You haven't mentioned any objective reason for not liking the 302 motor. Stop being so elitist.

Am I the only one who wants to save what this "scene" was years ago? What it was in the early 2000's... You know, when it was actually awesome? It's turning to total s*** now... why? Because America is amazingly good at ruining everything it touches.

Look at drifting. It was awesome here in 2003. 2004. And now it's absolutely horrible.

I'm on a high horse? No. It seems like I'm just the only one that isn't completely BLIND.

...Have you ever thought that drifting is making America better?? Instead of America making drifting worse. I'm sorry but I don't think you would be having all this fun drifting if it didn't make it to America in the first place. You're bringing a Skyline into America so does that mean that the moment it crosses the border it becomes worse? Sorry to threadjack...

mvrk21mex is actually a member here on NICO. I've talked to him a couple of times about this swap, really cool guy.

Here's another vid of his S13.
