Man this thread is so crazy, someone very near by where I live is doing an awesome build on a TTz. I can't say the last time I've seen a TTz around here let alone a well done one. I gotta check it out one day man! :)

That would be awesome, but unfortunately my Z doesn't run atm lol. Could still roll out though, just isn't as fun without a Z car!

As far as the rest of the Z goes I have been getting the plenum ready to be PCed saving money for a new oem trans alternator battery harness and planning where I am going to mount my controllers (ebc, turbo timer, EDFC). I am about to start putting the engine bay back together but before I do that I need to finish the brake booster..

I am about to make a new thread because I need some opinons from everyone.

Interested in doing a similar build. Would it be possible to make a very rough estimate on your total money and time spent?

I would rather not discuss that publicly not because I don't trust yall but because there are some local tuners that are following my thread and I don't want to advertise that type of information.

If anyone wants to know for what ever reason PM me please..

I am sure yall understand.

I believe you have officially reached baller status. My old boss had these same ones (or similar) and man were they great. They were very smooth but firm and grabbed the pavement very well.

Ok so we were going to bolt both snails up this weekend but we ran into a few problems. We only got the left side bolted up its not completely installed we still have to tighten down one nut (front right) and tighten down the other ones (I am doing it in a sequence). Also hook up the oil feed into the block.

Fitment was good except the turbo oil return pipe was too long and not at the correct angle. We ran into this problem on both sides for the left side we had to bend it up. The reason why I think the fitment was not dead on is because I have the SZ oil pan (which is a modified oem TT oilpan) and the spouts are at a different angle which is really no big deal. I just thought I would state that for people wondering in the future.

Ok onto pics:

The first couple of pics are of the turbo oil return pipe.

Notice how the rubber hose appears as if it has a kink which it does. Its a very slight bend I don't think it will hurt anything. The oil will just puddle up then go over the bump and keep on flowing. Also its not in a binde (for lack of better words its not like it is seeing any tension). Also the oil return tube is touching the compressor housing should I adjust that??

Moving on, Notice how close the hot side housing is from hitting the block.. Its very precise. (1-2 mm) I got a couple of pictures from slightly different angles.

Here is the nut that I have to finish tightening. I am worried that I won't get it all the way tight.

IMHO, on the kink, I would just remove the oil drain hard pipe and "massage" it up a bit. As it is, it won't be detrimental to performance, but it can't hurt to line them up either. I wouldn't do it while mounted to the turbo though.

The turbo to manifold nut, try getting a built in swivel 13mm (they're 13mm right?) to tighten it. I forget how I did mine, I may have left the water line loose to get a wrench on the nut, then tightened the water line after. I honestly don't recall.

Looks great though man, beautiful engine.

Okk sounds good yea they normally are 13mm but Greg sent me what he uses because its easier. 12 mm flare nut.

They look like that except not as nasty.

Thanks T I can't wait till she is all complete and sitting in the bay.

A swivel 12 should be easier to find. I'd ask him for suggestions as well, been 4 years since I did mine and I'm old, lol

haha we are all one day closer to death.

I would try and massage it alittle too, you dont want it to rub a hole in the oil line. And yep, engine is still sexy.

If the swivel socket is too big just try a thinner chrome one. Also what do you think about heat wraps? Might be worth it if the exhaust side is that close to the block. Just a thought

BAM!

Going to get some more tools today.
12mm swivel, Pipe flarer, Pipe cutter.

Dad and I got the turbo on last night... It just needed a massage and some kind words. :chuckle:

Still gotta button it all up, torque everything down and then put the oil return back on after I modify it which is why I am going to get those tools.

After I finish up the turbo's it will be time for engine accessory brackets. :woot:

LOL^ Yep. When I get my Z back on the road I am going to sweet talk her regularly I promise you it worked haha the turbo just slid right on up.

Last night we fixed the pipe on the RH side it looks real good now. I am going to tackle the LH side tonight along with that last nut.

The RH side turbo is completely put together I am going to get some pictures in a little bit after I catch up at work (had to bring sister to school today).
We need to talk about how to run the stainless steel oil feed line.. I have it ran right now but I don't think its right... Anyway i'll let the pictures do the talking in a little bit.

Thats why I went with Tein because I love being able to adjust the stiffness while sitting in the drivers seat.
