Starting with the base 300zx twin turbo.. is there much room for upgrades?

I have been reading they are not practical engines to invest much money into. Just wondering if they are worth the time?

If not what would be a good option?

The VG30 has great potential. A tuned version of this engine was in Nissan's dominant IMSA GTP cars from the '80's. There are plenty of parts available. Check out the forum.

Well I'm looking good to spend about 2.5k..

Just wondering if I should go with the vg30dett or an RB series engine

Also it's going in a 1974 datsun 260z... need to make sure it will fit
