I had a 300zx tt fuel pump in my last 240sx w/ sr20det redtop.....I always wandered why the car ran so frickin rich. The other night I read the 300zx fuel pump ran on low voltage at low rpm's in the Z; however the 240sx doesn't have this feature so the fuel pump dumps everything it can all of the time at the motor --- Is there a way to fix this so the car doesn't waste so much gas which in turn made me fill up 2-3 times a week in the old car? The reason I ask is that I can see this same problem happening again after my motor gets put into the car I have now.

I have the Z32 fuel pump, get about 27-29mpg's. Its not your pumps, its your driving style and how well your engine is running/setup.

It is more likely your fuel pressure regulator rather than the fuel pump. I would just buy an adjustable one with a pressure gauge.
