why won't it run? lack of spark? or lack of fuel? easy way to find out, pull the injector plugs, and give ti a shot of starting fluid (it's best to spray this in the intake past the mas), if it fires right up you knwo your problem was fuel, if not then you have a spark problem or both, could also be the ECU, or the CAS which is in the distributor, or maybe the ignotor, please tell us more, what has changed other than the listed parts since it last ran? and we'll assume the timing belt hasn't snapped?

We have been using starting fluid and we checked spark and were getting it also at first we had fuel running out of the tail pipe but it has stopped. We changed the fuel filter. Maybe I'll just buy a new motor.

have you checked the cas or the ecu? how about that timing belt? a new motor won't fix it if it's the ecu, chances are it wasn't fuel coming out your exhaust, maybe fuel mixed with coolant due to blown headgasket

just to clarify, you confirmed spark? at each plug ? is the distributor turning? have you verified compression? are the injectors getting thier pulse? is the fuel pump pumping? what happened since the car was last running?

Actually last night we put plug wires and a different distirbutor on I'm thinking maybe it's our injectors cause the injectors we put on the car were from a turbo motor would that make any difference?

yeah the turbo injectors are quite a bit larger and will flood the engine with fuel, I think they are about 20-30% larger

again, have we confirmed anything? si the belt good? what has happened to the car since it last ran?

Timing belt is still good the distributor spins when the key is turned the guy I got it from said that he ran it in december. Other than that I think the only thing is the injectors.

If our distributor wasn't working would we still be getting a spark?

Maybe. Spark comes from the coil which goes to the Distributer. The Distributer is just a means of getting the spark to a specific wire/plug/cylinder.

We are going tonight to get new injectors from a junk yard. Hopefully this works my time is getting limited. Before I go to the desert again.

the distributor has 2 optical sensors in it, and it can fail intermitantly, the ignitor woud also be a good item to check, or replace from the junkyard

So we put the new injectors in and now it seems as if the distributor is not working you called it there. Luckily I have a backup. I hope this works it's getting really frustrating.

junkyard? JDM engine importer? I gotta say Im not convinced you need a new motor, have you verified the CAS and ignitor are both working? ECU? MAF?

dipstick smells like gas, you've been cranking with no spark the fuel goes into the oil pan, the rings have a gap in them so some anount of blow by is bound to happen, as for the oil on the floor, how much and where is it coming from? if there si a hole in the side of you're engine or no compression in one cylinder by all means replace the motor I just hate to see you replace everything but the actual problem
