I am looking to buy a z32 for a project car, nothing too out of shape that needs too much work, but something to wrench on a little. I found this one for $4000 that I like, its a 1992 NA 2+2, and it says it has no tires and it "needs a head gasket" (no elaboration on that as far as I could see). I don't know too much about cars, so I want to know if this is a worthwhile deal, or if I shouldn't bother with it.

The listing is here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... =undefined

I'd start with something far simpler (and less pricey to maintain) for your first bout of learning. A Z32 is cool as heck, but plan on a LOT more needing replacement than just tires and a head gasket.

At that point, you may as well go through the engine completely, and if the HG went south, I'd suspect cooling system issues... You're also going to want to do belts, hoses, water pump, thermostat, most likely injectors, brakes, fuel pump, all fluids, and THEN pray the t-tops don't leak (most all do, unless seals are new).... I'll stop there, but I'm not done. :)

I also see rust (which means you're gonna snap some bolts), missing vacuum hoses, and a lot of janky ricer-boy crap that would make me walk away fast.

$4k is high for a non-runner. Seller is on crack. If it was that simple, he'd fix it himself.

Welcome aboard!

For the condition this seller is about $2500 on crack. That's a $1500 car at most and if there is no other hidden rust. I bought my non runner gulf coast car with zero rust and popped timing belt for $850 about 4 years ago before the events of the last few years wreaking havoc on the used car market.
