I have been looking into the same thing. I took the idea to the local Nissan swap gurus and they seemd to think it would work. I have much faith in their opinions. It may take a little bit of mount and crossmember work, but it is feasable TMK.

If you look on http://www.meggala.com you will find many oddball swaps such as that and maybe even that very swap. There is a pic of a RB26 swapped into a Z32 there. This will not work in LHD cars because the turbos obstruct the steering shaft and master cylinder/brake booster. We have speculated that with the RB25 single turbo, fittment in this area will nolt be a problem.

I am looking for more info on this swap b/c it is coming time for me to pick up my next project car. Right now it is between RB25 300Z or a 2JZGTE Lexus SC300.

Anyone else have info on the RB25 swap? I am interested in hearing. I am new to the Z camp, so forgive me if I have spoken sacrilidge.

sounds like a good swap to me if u plan on makign serious power, however if ur not, and already have a TT, then i would say its not worth it, as the TT (vg3o) already has more power than the RB25, but once u start talking 4oo+hp then yea id say opt for hte RB, not to mention it just sounds balls to the wall!!

THE VG30DETT IS BETTER THAN THE RB25, IT CAN TAKE WAY MORE ABUSE AND THE AFTER-MARKET HERE IN THE STATES IS PRETTY LARGE. I WOULD GET A VG30DETT FROM EITHER VENUS OR RACINGHARD CAUSE IT IS THE BETTER OPTION OVER THE RB SERIES.

the sr swap ahs been done a few times as well not to bad for handeling.I believe the one on my sie was an rb 25 very little info on itand iahve seen another rb26 one rhd though

sweet, do you happen to know what engine between the Rb25 and RB20 has better gas milage?

both have similar the rb25 uses more if you squeeze the pedal with my cefiro with an rb20 we got 630 klms to about 55 liter driving on the hwy @ 60 mph.cheers

do rb20 and other rbs share the same mounts? If so, couldn't you just bolt in an rb with the 300zr mounts?

I know both engines are stout, but I always thought the RB was stronger.
