Hey guys
I'm putting a new clutch in my 300zx TT and I'm wondering which kind to get
Here's the mods on my 300:

JWT Sport 530 Ball Bearing Turbos
Selin Dual Intake Kit with Translator
Deatschwerks 740cc Injectors
Specialty Z RPS Max Street (700lbs) Clutch
3" to 2.5 inch downpipes and testpipes
HKS Hi-Power 2.5" Catback Exhaust
AMZ 1-Piece Steel Driveshaft
Mishimoto Radiator
Nismo Thermostat
Z1 Intercoolers
Tuned ECU
Usually runs stock boost or up to 16 psi.

Making approx 500hp at the crank.

It's currently got the RPS max street clutch which was very easy to drive, and very streetable but didn't last that long. (about 2 summers of driving, not super aggressively)
I would like a longer lasting clutch, comfort is my priority. Its a street car, but its not a daily driver, and not driven really often. It's not a track car, it will likely never visit a track. I don't mind paying more for a longer lifespan even if it's an aggressive clutch. Obviously I don't want it to be so aggressive that it's an on/off switch, but I can handle a reasonably tricky clutch. I have heard the Southbend OFE-SS Endurance from Concept Z is good, I've also been recommended a Competition Stage 3, any other suggestions?

I hear kevlar clutches are recommended for higher horsepower cars, however any stop and go traffic will cause glazing if it over heats and it will not recover very well. Plus I never track it, So I am leaning more towards the hybrid Organic/Feramic Southbend OFE-SS. Any body have experience with these hybrids?

Also is a lightened flywheel worth it? In general does it wear the clutch out faster?

Thanks!!

Your best choices are either the RPS you have now or the SZ Max Street clutch which is built for 700LB/FT (way more than you need). A lightweight flywheel will make the car more rev happy but make launching a bit different, I love my LWFW but its more of a personal preference for a street driven car. A LWFW will cause your clutch to wear out faster if you don't adjust your driving and shifting to the way the car will act, Most wear and tear on a car depends 98% on the driver and 2% on the part.

Yeah I think I might go with a lighter flywheel. I'm not worried about my shifting, my daily driver already has a crazy tricky clutch.

In my orginal post I wrote comfort is priority, I meant NOT my priority. sorry!
I really don't mind an aggressive clutch.

According to this blog at concept Z: https://conceptzperformance.com/blog/?p=259
The RPS/SZ Max Street has a poor lifespan compared to other clutches.

My Z guy says that an organic disk will probably last longest and feel the best, and handle any punishment up to 600+ HP with a correct pressure plate so I myself went that direction and am happy with the setup- a 500 ft lb. plate and a upgraded Exedy organic disk for my 400-ish HP setup that is nearly exactly what you listed plus exhaust porting.

So I went with the Southbend OFE-SS
So far I love it. Its only about 200 kms into its break in, so I'm assuming it will soften a bit. First gear is very grabby but honestly I love it that way, gives it more of a race car feel and not at all bothersome
even in heavy traffic. First gear is obviously the grabbiest, all other gears are easy. I noticed that the reverse gear is much smoother than when I had the RPS max street, we will see if that changes in time.

you might try a jwt street clutch part # LZ320-TC000 with a z31 300zx pressure plate. 1100kg clamping force and drives like a stock clutch.

Southbend makes great clutches but last I checked they were not the cheapest, did you get a better deal than spec/specialtyZ?
