i found a 300zx tt and everything is rebuilt etc. bla bla bla.but my questiopns after doing some research.from some of you tt guy, can you tell me the reliability?i always see people rebuilding them around 100k-120k.thats horrbile if thats the life span..?if i was to get this car. i would be looking to get arounf 450-500whp, (dd)how much would it take(average)and how reliable.most people i`ve taked to is trying to get me to stick with my 240 and just build that.

any help

well if it is the stock engine its the vg not the vq so you might want to try that thread? if it is infact a vq swapped in good luck

You mean vg30dett because you said 300zx. My club member had 280k on his b4 rebuild. The issue mainly is once you start turning up the boost the 300zx is crazy fast the problem is people tend to not do the supporting mods and they burn pistons and break things. Which is true for all engines but something you will also learn if you actually work on your own 300zx you may rebuild it just for power purposes. Once you strip some of the garbage off the motor they get alot easier to work on.[IMG][/IMG]

We have a few customers with stock motors pushing over 500rwhp on pump gas. Just take the right amout of fuel and the right turbo setup. I have owned both a 240sx and a 300zx. The 300zx is a much safer car at speeds. GL in your search do a compression test and look underneath the car to make sure it's not leaking a ton of crap.

You should buy it and swap in a VQ... you'd drop a lot of weight off the front.(at least 200 lbs, likely more) The stock VG is more stout than the VQ, but you could build up a VQ with aftermarket parts to take a lot of power.
