300zx VH45 power steering pump/sway bar conflict

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Dropped the Vh into the Z this weekend and the ps pump hits the sway bar. The only solutions I see are lowering the sway bar a couple inches or ditching the ps pump in favor of an electric pump a la' MR2 or something similar.

Anyone know how others have handled this situation?

I know a few guys that have ditched motor driven PS for the electric pump. Less parasitic loss as well.

Other then that, you'd have to lower the sway bar like you said.

Find an aftermarket sway bar that doesn't hit it.

I believe Suspension Techniques moves it forward slightly as I seem to have more room between my LS1 oil pan than those using the stock bar do.

Well I already have ST sway bars so I guess I'm down to lowering it. I kinda wanted to keep A/C and the sway bar hits that bracket too so I'm just gonna drop it probably like 2 inches. It will sit pretty low but not any lower than the exhaust and just slightly lower than the main x-member.
