300zx tt whining noise when accelerating

hi can anyone tell me why my 300zx is making this noise when i put my foot down on the accelerator? its a 1991 300zx tt automatic

Sorry about no responses yet, I've been unbelievably busy lately.

That sounds like a torque converter on its way out. I'd take it to a transmission shop for positive diagnostic, but that's what I've always heard as a dead TC. Double check to make sure your trans fluid is properly filled.

This is kind off a shot in the dark but is it coming from your speakers? If I have my volume turned up and no music playing when I have my music set on aux I get a whining noise.

^I don't think that would be louder than the exhaust outside the car though. It does sound a bit like speaker whine, but this has a distinct mechanical whine to it as well.

Its whining because it hates being an automatic duh!


ha ha just kidding how is the fluid level in the trans? id do a filter and fluid change and see if that helps. if not start saving for a 5 speed swap or jdm auto trans and drive it until she goes.
