I'm hoping you guys know what kind of power this transmission can hold, since they're easy to source and not cost an arm. I believe it would be an ideal candidate for the RB26 RWD swap.

I know for sure that this transmission is direct bolt on-to the Rb25 bell-housing.

any input would be appreciated?

rb25det, rb26dett, and vg30dett transmissions share the same gears.

with the exceptions of output shaft lengths, and bellhousing/case lengths they are essentially the same.

thats my plan also. 5-600 whp. probably more.

RWD doesnt place nearly the stress on the transmission that AWD does, and GTR trannys hold up well.

i have seen the 300zx tt's transmission hold up to 500whp, but i'm skeptical about it's ability to withstand higher hp/torque in the area where the rb26 can ultimately produce.

if you plan to use one in your 240 it probably wont work, the dimensions are completley diffrent. so is the shifting mechanisim

well, the vg is a very torquey motor.

when it comes to clutches, trannys, and rears, its torque that you have to worry about. notice how clutches are rated for torque. the torque is the actual force your applying, whereas horsepower is how fast your applying that force.

if those gearsets can hold up to a GTR clutch drop at 7k rpm, i would have no worries pumping 5-600 whp through them in a RWD application.

i need to do some measurement to see whether the transmission will align to the shifter slot.

on top of that, it's quite hard to find just a rb25 bell housing...if anyone know a good source for one, pls let me know.
