I have a 300zx Na. I want to convert my car into a tt. I know I need a tt motor and a different fuel pump I'm just no sure if there's anything else I need. Do I need a new trans or a new clutch ? Plus I need someone that knows how to do a swap for this kind of car. My email address is [email protected]

NA -> TT Swap Guide

Theres a couple guys around your area who know what they're doing when it comes to Z's, ask Vanessalalinda what she was able to come up with.

FYI it's cheaper to just buy a TT.

It's cheaper by a whole lot! I think I am up over 10k right now. I have added all kinds of goodies, but it would still run 7-8k. If I sold my Z (which is very clean) and added that 8k, I could buy a pristine TT. I just don't want to sell my Z and my wife doesn't want me to buy another one, so...

Seriously, there is more to a swap than just buying the motor. If you go that route, get a clip. So many things are needed. But even with a clip, you have to sink some serious coin into the thing if you want it to be right.

you're right that it's cheaper to buy a tt.

there's a guy near my house who's selling a pretty nice tt for 11.5k.

46k miles, stock.

but i figured if i'm going to run a tt, i'm going to want to rebuild it, do the 120k maintenance, new turbo's, new exhaust manifolds (the stock ones are pretty average), new injectors, etc.

But you haven't started

If you're dead set on a swap, read that info and get your credit card ready. Nothing wrong with a swap, other then the price.

i understand, i'm in a similar place, i just want the car to run!!!

but a front half is 3k, about.

the jdm places in new jersey aren't all that, jdmenginezone in clifton is probably the best out of the bunch, imo.

but i didn't want to rush and do the swap...because then, if i have to get something fixed, i have to pull the engine/trans again, and i don't have the tools or know-how to do that.

even if you go with a front half, hoses will have to get replaced, do you trust those turbo's?

do you trust the intercoolers? 120k pack maintenance, from what i'm told, is a good idea. those fuel injectors don't like ethanol, so it's a good idea to update them too. tt fuel pump, radiator, oil cooler, etc.

i don't think people who drive these cars have a light foot, it gets abused.

i'm also in the central nj area, maybe we can help each other out with the tt swap.

OutToWinPAHC (240sx mod) swears by Elite JDM in Philadelphia. They do excellent work from what he says.

From someone who is just now finishing a swap I can tell you right now you will be kicking your own a** half way through the swap once you realize that you cant cut corners so you end up spending a s*** ton of money and doing a whole bunch of work and you will come out with a car that you can never sell as a TT. If your dead set on doing the swap, STOP dont do anything until you have talked exstencively to atleast 5 people who have done the swap and your have read EVERYTHING about the swap. if you go in blind you f*** yourself royally.
