Has anyone ever tried this? Is it even possible? Just think, a 6 cylinder twin turbo in an S14! Now that would be one fast car. And btw, what is the engine code for the 300ZX TT engine?

The engine code for the engine a Z32 is VG30DETT. I'm not sure how hard it would be, but I'm sure you could sqeeze it in an S14. A better idea for a twin turbo 6 cylinder is to put a RB26DETT in a silvia. That's the engine from a Skyline GT-R. Those can make serious power. I'm not sure how much they weigh though. If they weigh close to the SR20 or KA24 it'd be a good swap to do cause it wouldn't throw the balance of the car off too much. Just a thought.

Both are a good deal heavier, and both require a lot custom modifications. For cost/power/effeciency/effectiveness, go with the SR.

I just wish the S14 had two "easy" swaps like the S13 does...oh well...

I have heard of talk about putting in a VG engine. it fits but its alittle cramped. but the RB engine is way too heavy for a daily driving car. it would put the balace off. If you were using the s14 as a drag car only, it would be uber good. the RB can easily handle over 1,000 hp. blitz has one that has 890 and its running 34 psi of boost. the only skyline engine that would be close to the weight of the KA or SR and keep the balance is the RB20DET. i dont know much about it, other than it was in the early GT skylines, not the GT-R. its smaller and single turbo. hope this helps.

I'm not actually thinking about doing this, I just got the idea from another thread and wanted to get some info on it. Would be cool though.

The RB26 is not too heavy, neither is the VG.

Both require custom work to get in there, the VG requires even more work than a skyline engine.

The money you spend to get the VG in, and all the custom work is not worth the power output nor tunability. Way to much custom work, the engine bays are totally different.

People have tried it, to my knowledge no one has succeeded yet though.

Also, the RB will handle about 600-700 stock.

Also, the RB20DET is pretty junky, might as well get the SR20.

And last, but not least, its just as easy to put the CA18 and S13 SR into the S14, the wiring is just a bit more complex. Its still the same mounting locations for everything.

go for the VG30 or RB26 only if you want 600HP +otherwise SR will be good enough...

hey Dauntt,

its not the first time I've heard the red top SR is an easy drop into the S14. How much harder is it to install an S14 black top into a N. American S14, and what the heck was Nissan thinking? Wouldn't the mounting points be the same, since its the same car with a different motor?

Also, didn't you mention in another post that the CA motor is a good buy if you want over 500HP? So is there really a need to get the inline 6 of a Skyline if all you are looking to do is get 5-600 HP outta your ride? The CA would be a more cost effective solution for 600HP, not to mention probably lighter, so the balance of the 240 can somewhat be maintained, in order to do well on a autocross course, right? Well, on second thought, you also said the RB motor can handle 600HP stock, with some upgrades obviously, and I'm sure the CA will have to built all over. Well, my question to you is what would be the most cost effective way to obtain 500HP without harming the balance of the S14, in order to make it a good autocross vehicle? Also reliability, I know they are all Nissan motors, but in your opinion, would one be better than the other?

just asking
