hey guys i was wonderin if anyone had put a 300zxtt differnetial in there car. I need something with a lower gear ratio, my gas mileage is horrible and i cant effectively use my power curve the 4.083 aint cuttin it. 1st and 2nd gear are absolutely useless as soon as boost comes on tires are spinnin and im at redline third gear is pretty good....but in 6th gear at like 60mph im doin like 3300 rpm:mad: . if anybody has any suggestions id be appreciative, i dont know if maybe i can get new gears for the differential or something of those lines.thanks Dane

the TT diff is an R230V differential. you may have difficulties installing it. also, it is a 3.69 ratio diff.

if you can get the diff from a Q45, its an R200V diff [you have an R200] and it is geared to 3.58 or something along those lines.

they are viscous lsd [hence the V after the model.]

if you only want a little increase in gearing, the J30's use an R200V diff geared to 3.916

The Z32 TT is too big to fit w/o modification. The Z32 NA is the correct size and IIRC the same ratio as the J30 diff.Is that a S15 transmission you got in your 240??

damn thats pretty crazy. im at about 80 at 3200, which still sucks to me.anyways you can get different pinion gears and change the final drive, but they arent cheap. i had no idea the q45 used the r200v, seems like with its power it would use the z32tt one. any idea if the outputs are 5 or 6 bolt?

thanks a lot guys...that q45 seems like it would be the best to go with....just because im tryin to get as low a gear ratio as possible. Could i pack the internals of a q45 diff into my s14 vlsd, and use the lsd output shafts?

Thanks Dane

i would say yes based on the fact that the S14 and G50 [Q45] use the same series diffs [R200]. its the Z32TT that uses the larger R230 diff.

as far as the size being an issue, i cant say with 100% certainty.

i would imagine it shouldnt be a problem.

if you have a viscous diff currently, and the Q45 diff has non-matching output shafts, you can just swap them.
