Is it possible to have the crankshaft mark 180 degrees out . The belt popped off when trying to replace the top center idler?

no, the crank turns 2 revolutions to every one revolution of the cams, if the cams are limed up wiht their marks then the crank should be as well, and if the crank is lined up with it's mark the cams can still be 180 out, this is why you rotate the engine to tdc when doing anything wiht the timing belt

PS: You posted in the wrong section. This is for the older 300ZX.

I recently acquired a 1990 z32 that was not running. After working on this for two weeks I had it running great, but I could not get it timed right. It appeared to be 180 degrees out, but I know this to be impossible. I finally found that the indexing pin on the cam for the CAS was broken off and the CAS was turned 180 out, I also found all of the wires on the secondary (E side) of the PTU to be criss crossed. I wired them up correctly and now the timing is correct! The guy I traded for the car told me that it needed a new motor. His loss my gain!
