300zx Rice Burner Designation ?

I recently had a long discussion with one of my car buddies about my z32 being catergorized as a rice burner. I ask because my background really stems from sport touring european cars and muscle cars.....From what I understand, just because a car is japanese made does not automatically designate it as a rice burner.....However I still had a hard time really distinguishing the difference between the z32 being a sports car versus a rice burner....What makes our Nissan Z32 different from let's say Hondas, toyotas or mitisubishies? I thought this title was for cars that were all dolled up but had not go power? But really what differentiates a rice burner from our z32's? I need to make a better defense the next time the subject comes up.

a rice burner has four dors and looks like crap a 300zx is the most sporty car of the 90s period its a sports car it dosent even have cup holders thats how sporty the z32 is i love my z and im prety sure that its not a "ricer"

well back in my day "rice burner" referred to anything with a japanese name plate, honda, datsun 9now nissan), toyots, mitsubishi, subaru etc

"rice" as I think of it is an acronym, for Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancementsthis includes big aluminum wings on the backs of cars, or giant squirrel catcher air dams, basically anything that makes a car look fast while not providing any actual performance is rice

so to me a Z32 (which I own) is not "rice" but is a "rice burner" however if you stick a big aluminum wing on it it's rice, if you put a GTR badge on a mustang it's rice (yes I have seen this) I in general feel that body "Kits" are rice

and to mucky the waters even more, I had 2 nissan trucks, both built in america, I know a guy that drove a ford made in canada, and another guy that drove a didge built in mexico

a geo metre is built by suzuki and nto in the states, an eagle talon is built in america side by side with the mitsubishi ecplipse with the same parts and different names in a plant that was a joint venture between the two, the market is far to confusing to use the general term rice burner anymore

i agree! the z32 is not rice because it is actually a sports car. 2 doors and no back seats means sports car. anyone who says the z32 is rice has no concept of what rice is or means, and is just trying to sound cool and probably is driving some type of american car that breaks down once a month like a ford. rice implies that the car is not fast, ask your friend if he wants to run you and see who wins... now a stock z32 is not rice, but i have seen a powder blue z32 with a large aluminum airplane wing on the back once and it made me feel pretty afull but over all the z32...not rice.... now some people think the wing on my car makes it look ricey... those people can lick my nuts, i plan on drift tuning my car and in my opinion the spoiler matches the style

this one guy at my school first saw my z32 last night...First thing he said when he saw the exaust was "now your a little riceburner". I basically let him have it...he drive a mercury sable his mom handed down to him...he has generic rims that look like sh*t , a wierd flip up trunk..a 15 inch lcd in trunk thats not hooked up to anything..ghost white flames on side that he got from autozone...And tint he did himself that has bubbles the size of a basketball in it....he also has "custom exaust" which consists of "crome" muffler tips that can be bought at wallmart and prolly better quality...I basicaly told him that..added a few words in there..and he didnt know what to say..I just started laughing..as he got in his sable in which the car alarm goes off anytime he opens the door no matter what.

wow... ricers are cars that put huge aluminum spoilers on and chrome exhaust tips and have stickers all over the car like its some kind of show car to make people think the car is fast... if the car isnt fast and has any of these things it can be classified as a ricer. heres a funny website about ricers that i found...http://www.goingfaster.com/spo....html
