i heard the iav or something like that lowers your rpms or idle???
i disconnected the throttle cable to see if it was that and it wasent still reved up...what could be wrong?robomatic12 wrote:Make sure neither the throttle cable or the throttle linkage are binding. Set the cas to the middle of the adjustment range. I'm not sure if the iacv can make the idle that high, sounds like something is wrong.
No I haven't because it to loud to hear and I don't want the engine revving up that high for too long:/es.biggs wrote:Double check for vacuum leaks?
Ima put the exhaust back on so it won't be as loud and do that but also can maybe the iac be stuck open or something making the rpms rise? I can't think of anything else other than that... the car starts right up but as soon as it stars it revs its self?.. is it easy to swap the iac without taking the plenum off?robomatic12 wrote:3500rpm isn't really going to hurt anything, it's a little hard on it if it's completely cold but you need to have it running to figure out if there are any vacuum leaks. or you could try using a boost leak detector
