hey guys so i changed the engine in my car and i got it to turn on but as soon as it turns on it rev's up to like 3500 rpm???I got soooo scared because the exhaust is off and its super loud soo i just shut it off lol :rotfl Anyways i set the tps to .45 and the cas is not set right but i want to get the rpms low before i set timmingt to 15 degrees so what can it be?

Make sure neither the throttle cable or the throttle linkage are binding. Set the cas to the middle of the adjustment range. I'm not sure if the iacv can make the idle that high, sounds like something is wrong.

No I haven't because it to loud to hear and I don't want the engine revving up that high for too long:/

3500rpm isn't really going to hurt anything, it's a little hard on it if it's completely cold but you need to have it running to figure out if there are any vacuum leaks. or you could try using a boost leak detector

Ima put the exhaust back on so it won't be as loud and do that but also can maybe the iac be stuck open or something making the rpms rise? I can't think of anything else other than that... the car starts right up but as soon as it stars it revs its self?.. is it easy to swap the iac without taking the plenum off?
