I'm doing the swap this weekend on my Kouki. Q's about the rear. I have all the parts except the backing plate from the 300ZX. Can I use the S14's backing plate ( I would guess by cutting the lip off the backing plate as you would do to the front backing plate) To have the 300ZX rotors clear.

Will the 300ZX ebrake assembly mount to the s14 backing plate?

Also Anyone know of any other picture write-ups of the brake swap besides the one on importnut?

Thanks

You can use the S14 backing plate by trimming it down. The parking brake assembly bolts to the spindle (I assume thats what you meant by backing plate...)

Got the fronts on. (still waiting on parts for the rears) A little concerned. The pedal has some travel to it. Unforunately I had to make an emergency stop (figures, hrs after I did the install) And the pedal travel was hesitat and pretty soft. They stopped fine in normal crusing mode but that emergency stop took some time.

The only thing I didnt do was bleed the master cylinder should this be done? How do you do it? Same way as the breaks (by pumping the pedal)?

I not sure what you mean by bleeding the MC, but try rebleeding at the calipers. Mushiness is often a sign of air in the system.
