300zx questions

so we staretd working on a 300zx today and went to drive it. while driving it we noticed there is no power at all. It only has 105k miles on it and idles fine. what i want to know is:

what is known to go out early on these motors, and or what might you think it is, i mean, it seemstimed fine but theres no power.

also, anyone know about the motors that actuate the fan flaps. its not moving the flaps, i can hear the motor kick on and try to move them, but there not moving, are the motors prone to go out?

either way i wanna buy it off the guy were working on it for.

my guess is you have a code 34 on your ecu (engine knocking or more likely bad knock/detonation sensor). i might be wrong but its a VERY common from what i understand and it happend to my Z. check the ecu for any fault codes first of all, that might give you a good start. if you dont know how to check the ecu we/i can tell ya.

is there gonna be blinks or am i going to have to make a trip to a parts store and have it scanned?

you can do a lot of figuring out what the problem is yourself..maybe. the ecu light blinks, its under the passenger side floor mat you might have to unbolt it so see the led inside. your looking for code 55 if any other codes pop up there is the list of the codes below. let us know what codes you have, or any questions. is it a tt or na?

its NA to my knowledge, in all honesty it feels like its got a bad Headgasket or something, my semi broken 240 would stomp it right now, and that isnt right lol

i know a guy thats gonna check it out tommarow, its not my car but if its something silly and i can easily fix it and buy the car from the guy i will, i love this car, even in this condition its a fun car. go nissan!!
