aright here is the dilema. im working right now saving up every little nickle and dime possible and by summer im working wit my dad. i already have a 240 (useless info i though that i might add) and i was wondering should i get a 90-93 300ZX or a 94 240SX. so far i had nothing but bad look wit the SX ie. my 1st was an auto, clean as hell untile my dad left a soda can in the car during the hottest day of summer 2yrs ago dumb*** anywho she had transmission problems like mad. we thought tah we got then fixed like some $3,000 later so i after i got her back i decided to put the vielside CIII on it (i was the first wit to knowledge) on my way to getting her painted some stupid ***** hit me so like all of a sudden like 7 months after my first car met her demise i've seen two other people with my kit im like WTF and now with my new 240 (90') the one kid wit the kit revs on me everytime he sees me im like ***hole im like your father. 2nd with the new 240 my plan was suppose to be fool prof i took teh owners beater and i was suppose to put an sr motor in it and then put s15 heads on it...BUT i didn't get the money until like 4 months after the accident and i didn't find the car until 3 months after that ohh yeah did i mention i had girlfriend so there goes alot of money right there hmm...i guess my plan was fool prof anywho like i said earlier im working now and by the time summer rolls around i'll be working wit my dad so that'll give me about what i need to look for a good descent 240 and like wise 300 my ??? to you guys is which one should i get i mostly likely will get an n/a 300 and go all motor wit it. i allready know that i can't work on the 300zx at the comfort of my on home. alot of the things looks as if the engine would have to be remove to get into. i know wit the 240's everything is as easy as turing on a light swith if you will...i'll appreciate you guys imput thanx

Stick with the 240. 300zx's are hot, I've driven a tt, but its a lot more money (insurance is a *****), harder to work on, less parts for the VG than the sr20det, handles like a cow. Granted it has higher potential because its a bigger motor and is a twin turbo, but unless your loaded I'd just stick to the 240. Your only a few mods away from a 280-hp sr20......

If you buy a 300ZX, make sure you have enough money left over for a polyester shirt, some tight slacks, gold chains and a fake Rolex.

Oh, yeah - and you might wanna practice saying, "Hey, baby - What's shakin'?"

yeah i know thats the thing i also wanted to know. how they handle? i know about the "out of the box" hadling i tested it out not to long ago after it rained and need less to say (ohh yeah this is after my new motor) i broke something in it i now this b/c every time i turn on the car the rpms sits at 1k then they creep up and sti at 1500 and after highway driven and i come to a stand still it sits at 2k and then when i turn it off and try to turn it on again, it won't start...i think that i might stick around and see what else other people will say about by dilema anyway. i already have a list of things that im going to do to the 240 anyway and few things for the 300 as well so i'll stick around thanx

Nope - Just gauche (look it up).

It's a great car for a 40-something used-car salesman with 2 divorces and a bad toupee... But not gay.

First off, I didn't read all the post "cough cough, my lazy a$$" but if you intend on going all motor on the 300zx, the 240sx would be your best bet. Lighter, handles ten fold better, and cheaper. The 300zx's are awsome, but one really bad issue I have heared about the tt's are that the plastics "sensors, wiring, harnesses, etc" dry out really really bad and begin to break, due to the high heat comming off the intercooler pipes. The wiring harness is a major issue "so I have been told by my mechanic". Either way though, you still will win.

former240: i heard about that happ'n and in the latest scc project 300zx tt and what they did was relocated the plastic sensors. IDK though i know that the 240's are one of the best out of the box performance cars when it comes to handling and to add hp you can do it you'll self in save money. i guys im getting away from the 240's quality and looking for something more popular with the people instead of something that isn't that popular and can still whop alot of serious ***es

Actually, you should pick up a Z31. It should be turbo. There is one by me (Union County) that is SUPER CLEAN, but its N/A. The leather and interior are IMMACULATE, and the exterior has not one spec of rust. The cleanest Z I've ever seen.

Well man, it all comes down to personal preference. Thats what I think at least. Everyone's got their own opinions, and no one's are right or wrong, well sometimes at least, lol.

The last gen 300zx's are amazing cars.Anyone who says otherwise cannot afford them, or has mentality issues.

i can't decide for you, but i can say that the 240 and 300 are in two different $$ ballparks so which one is YOUR budget?

If you go with a Z stay away from 90 (they had an expensive prob with a cam shaft or sumptin) and try to get a 93.

well, since i wrecked my 240 i've lookin' into the 300zx too.but,I changed my mind because:*crappy gas mileage(i commute)*engine hard to work onparts are soooo expensive*the TT black later model is hard to find with desent miles(my color preference)*and since its hard to work,i have to take it to a mechcanic and i hate takin my car to the mechanic*insurance is about $90 more a month(damn)

but there were ssome stuff i really liked about them:*rwd*TT are bats out of hell*NA are fast too*good styling*engines for the most part are dependable*with turbo timer and couple bolt ons you can spank ALMOST anything**********They are nissans************but,im gunna keep my 240 and try to swap an engine in that b.itch
