hello I have posted several times on here before and you guys always know exactly what to do.
I am having some runability issues with my 300zx 2+2 I have spent the past 8 months putting an engine in it. and have had a lot of issues with getting it to run right. I just got done replacing the intake manifold gasket and replacing a broken vacuum hose under all of it. And now that that's all done the engine runs really rough at the 300 to 400 RPM range. until I unplug one of the vacuum hoses on the passenger side of the engine (the one that connects to the top vacuum lines.) and it revv's right up and rund great. so I guess the pressure regulator (or whatever that is) is plugged or faulty or sometihng. any ideas of what to do would be great. I am unemployed at the moment and can't afford to buy anything at the moment.
thanks in advance.

so when you unplug said vac hose, do you plug the hose? if not then you are not getting enough idle air and you can adjust it at the aicv

no offence but if it took you 8 months to put the motor in, you might be better served takign ti to someone who knows what they are doing

ha ha it took me eight month to put my motor cause I was out in the cold with a tarp to keep me warm while working full time and going to school. if I wasn't doing all of that it would have taken me like 6 or 7 months ha ha ha.

no the car runs better without the hose plugged in to it. the said hose connects down onto one of those electronic things that mounts to the side of the block and plenum. I took the thing out (sorry i don't know what it is called) and air passes through two of the 3 connections but not through the connection that the said hose connects to. I tried to put an easily bent wire into it to see if I could unplug it (gently) but alas it did not do anything to it.

I would absolutely love to take it to some one who knows what they are doing, but I am living off what little savings I have left till I can find a new job. so I have come here to see what can be done so that I can have my daily driver running again without having to worry about blowing something up.

so an open vac hose makes the car run better? then you have an idle air issue, the iacv and or the air rebulator are bad, stuck, unplugged or non funstioning
