Hi,
Just getting started - a friend of mine had a 300ZX na that was very cool, so I am looking to buy/build one and was wondering what the consensus on the options are. I would like more than just the V6, so I was thinking of doing a TT or V8 swap. I can get a shell (no engine or trans) pretty cheap, but, was wondering what I would get the most bang for my buck as far as engine and trans go? If I go TT, should I get a high mileage and just rebuild or get a Nissan/Infiniti/Chevy V8?
All thoughts are appreciated.

There are kits available to install a GM LS series engine into a Z32.
Lion of Judah sells them.

What's your budget?

A properly built TT swap (OEM spec) with all the extraneous goodies will run you around $5k not including the price of the car, parts and fab for any V8 swap will start around the same and run into the $20k territory if you are talking about getting crazy. If you can and will do all your own work these are the numbers, if you plan on paying someone to do the work add another $4k. So best bang for your buck, buy a TT in good condition, do all of the preventative maintenance and enjoy.

Actually a LS swap at stock will be close to 9k if you spring for a moderate kit, TT depending on whay kind of deals you get will be around that as well especially if your making it crank power out
