Hey guys, Im new and have been snoopin around on the forum here and its nice.

So heres the deal, Im 17 years old and I have loved the Z32 since I was like 13. My friend Adrian tells me there are very relaible, but if something breaks it can be costly. I have earned like $2,100 on my own and my dad and aunt are matching me 100% as a reward. I have been looking @ a 1990 300ZX NA with 122k miles and I found a 1996 240SX with 122k miles. The Z owner is asking $6,500 and the 240 owner is asking $3,900. They both have a quality exhaust kit and cold air... I am kinda struck. Please give me some helpful info.

AND PLEASE:none of this "Ull wreck either one blah blah blah"

I have been saving for awhile, and I kinda want to get my lower end dream car.

The NA Z32 is a lot cheaper to own and more reliable than a TT. Then again a TT is a lot more car and a lot more fun.

Personally I'd go with a 300zx over a 240sx anyday. But I think the asking price for that 90 NA might be to high.

But you already know my stance on this since I chimed in on your thread in the other forum

Feel free to hit me up on AIM if you ever want to talk Z cars and bounce some questions off of me.

Alright man thanks a lot. I know I was like holy moly when I saw his asking price of $6,500. He is pretty firm on it too. Im going to call him today and try to see if hes going to budge. Im visting my mom right now and when I go back home I am going to try and buy a car. But I do not want to get "desperate" for one and buy a POS. I have heard u can get like 200+K miles out of a Z and still be able to romp on it. But im about to make a new AIM because my SN is so old and I hate it. Ill reply to this with it soon. Ty for ur help man.

Asking price is way to high but it might be a real clean car. If you could find a 1991 you would get the driver airbag and 30mm brakes. Plus the 1990 had bad upper links on the front suspension. All of the 1990 car I find to be a little problematic. I would go with a Z over a 240sx any day. Good Luck.

Only the early 90's had the smaller brakes. Later 90's had the larger ones. And air bags and all that junk only add weight

forget the price on that **** man. way too high for the NA.I was able to get my 1993 300zx na with only 88,000 miles on it for $6,800. i've only needed to do one major mechanical fix and i finished that today, now it runs like a dream. (Replaced the PTU). anyways, my point is...

300zx > 240sx in just aobut every aspect.BUT, look around more, you can find alot better stuff for cheaper if you can just hold out a little longer. be patient man, wait for the deal.

I know for a fact all of the 300zx N/A's had the 26mm brakes from the early 89's all the way to 9/90. Plus the 1990's had those crappy upper links. The digital climate control was a blessing for the later 1990's and up. The manual climate controls are always damaged and impossible to find used and even though they are only like 60 or 70 dollars they are always on back order. I would go with a 1991 or above to make sure if you don't know how to id the parts.

clearly =]

haha. anyways. i completely agree with the above post. try to avoid the 1990s. Nissan seemed to work out a bunch of problems starting in 1991, and just getting better until they screwed everything up in 96.
