Would it be better to buy an n/a right now just to have a 300zx and later get a T engine swap because its my dream car? Or would it be better to wait until i can get a TT 300zx when its possible. I've done quite a bit of research about this car amd i know that the whole n/a to TT swap can be pretty pricey but its hard to wait to gt one> It would be much easier on the bank but if its not worth it then i wont think abut that option.

Thanks for any comments it helps a lot! Just trying to get some words from owners of these cars that know the details themselves.

Personally its up to you. I've been pricing all parts for a engine swap or rebuild and convert. As far as all that goes. It's a less expensive swap then to rebuild, but cost effectively it's better in the long run to buy an untouched or conservatively modded one. Check the classifieds section. There's a few posted

Car: '93 300zx n/a auto

Came with a Stillen exhaust and intake, otherwise it's stock. Owned since 2012.

I bought an n/a for the same reason. My dad used to have a small car lot when I was 12 and my favorite car to ride in was 300zx. Dream car ever since.

I bought mine when I was 19. The problem with buying an n/a with the intention to TT swap it (especially if using it as a daily driver) is that you have to maintain your existing platform.

So what you're really looking at is:
Your base car
Upkeep and tweaking on base car
And then your actual swap

For me its been:
$2500 base car
$3000 maintenance and small upgrades over 3 years.
And from what I've seen TT engines are about $1000 and probably need to be reworked. Not to mention a TT trans, TT differential, and having your ecu reprogrammed or replaced.

Do not NEED a TT transmission, although you will need to slightly mod the inside of the NA trans to fit a TT clutch and flywheel.
Or simply go with an NA sized clutch to handle the extra torque.

Absolutely do not NEED a TT diff. Many have ran the NA R200 diff without and problems, my self included.

Yes you need an Ecu chipped/upgraded.

Don't forget about the intercoolers and pipping, rad, AC components if you plan on keeping that too.
