I was wondering what you guys with stock 300zx N/As and TTs are getting?

Im currently looking between a 240sx or 300zx.

Also do all Z32s have that "sport/toruing button"?? What if i get new shocks/struts or coilovers, will the button still have effect?

If your choosing between the two because of gas mileage, go for the 240. The Z should get around 20 or so on average. That's not getting on it.

The stock sport/touring feature is kind of like a baby step toward the Tein edfc system to where you can choose your ride stiffness. I believe it only came on TT's.

Around 20mpg is average.

The touring/sport switch for the suspension came on all TT's and will only work with the stock shocks with the solenoids on top of them.

There was just a huge post about that. My wife and I get the same mileage with her 1990 240Sx and my 1990 300ZXtt.....25MPG hwy if I keep my foot out of it and drive like the rest of the traffic. In the city I get more like 15.

EPA rating: City / Hwy 18 / 24 mpg

whoa your mpg is pretty great for a v6 imo.im sure the power difference between a 240 and 300zx would make up for the loss of mpg.

So pretty much ill just see what i can find first and then go from there. As of right now im:60% 300zx N/a40% on a 240sx

thanks for the info guys

like zwicked said, everything i've seen is 18/24. i haven't actually calculated it yet, though. if you plan on joining the drifters, get the 240. if you plan on big speed, Z. if you plan on making a track or strip car, get either. be prepared for swaps on either or a turbo on the KA. congratulations on making the switch (FWD to RWD).

o, and not all Zs have that button. mine doesn't. in 6-12 months i'll probably get some TEINs with the EDFC anyway.

Im actually not a big fan on Drifting, Im more into track/autocross, so im still stuck in deciding on a N/A300zx or 240sx. ahah

haha btw Thanks about the FWD/RWD thing. Im sick of spinning tires in the front Though my prelude could probably take on a 240sx stock for stock :p

be warned: nissans are apparently addictive. a friend of mine made the switch you're making. he had a prelude. then switched to an S14. now he has two S14s and an S13 and 4 motors hanging around.

ahah i really love the s13 coupes with the conversion up front, but im looking for a car with ABS, DOHC, Sunroof so most likely a S14 SE w/ the LSD if i can find one.

i definitely prefer S14s over S13s. with a few mods you can add a ton of power (on either). mostly turbo. and yes, i'm talking about the KA. and they're light weight, unlike the Z. Z's power + 240's weight would be= amazing.

My 93 TT was averaging about 17 MPG on the highway. City was much much worse. I had upgraded to free flowing exhaust, so it wasn't stock at the time.

ouch. Twin Turbos are great but -17mpg is just out of the question for me.

When you say on the highway, are you cruising or boosting? I've got to record lows of ~12mpg (estimated) on the highway, but i was spooling the turbos and between 120-140 the whole time. And that was stock boost - if you turn it up your mileage will drop much more. Generally when people talk about highway mileage they mean not boosting, just cruising at a normal speed. If you were just cruising, something's wrong. I averaged ~24mpg not boosting, with the very best near 27mpg.
