Hello, I'm looking to swap in a nissan titan motor into my 90' 300zx. I've seen many 350 and g35s already done this. I know their engine bay is alot different than the older Z32s. Soo i was wondering if anyone has done this already or have any tips. I know where to get an engine with FF controller and ecu/harness already for about $2,000. Which makes this a hell of alot cheaper than doing a TT swap with comparable horsepower.

Any tips or info posted would be helpful, thanks
JB

I've seen several people suggest this, but I'm not really sure if anything came out of it. A number of people have sucessfully put a VH45 in, not sure about a VK45 or 56 though. How much hp/tq does the VK56 come with? I think the VK45 was rated at 340hp/330tq or thereabouts.

output is 317 - 320 hp at 4900 rpm with 385 to 393 lb·ft of torque at 3600 rpm I like the near 400 torque just running stock motor. Then with the flexfuel i can upto a 85% ethenol 15% gas setup. The supercharger most 350z and G35s put on replaces the intake manifold, lowering the height of the motor down soo no cowl is needed. It also cranks out some killer numbers and with this motor already setup for towing purposes theres some really good ecu flashes cranking up the stock torque and horse by 50-80 putting stock motor potential around 360-380hp and 440-460 torque.
I have been reading about both the VK45 and VK56 for about 6 months. I like what has been done with the VK45 swaps, but for the numbers the VK45 making i can just do a TT swap and come out about the same.
I've seen alot putting the LS1 motors in but to me just makes me wanna cry. I love nissan motors ever since my first Nissan (85 Nissan 720 Kingcab pickup z24 4cyl motor with dual spark plugs per cylinder) Nothing could blow that little work horse motor.
Soo props to those who have done killer swaps out already to the rb motors and the infinity 45 motors. i hope to see the Z32 still alive for the next 20 years as its the first car i ever wanted and still my baby even tho its only a VGDE N/A

Yeah it sounds like a great project, I'm not trying to say don't do it. Just usually with swaps like this, there's alot of custom things that need to be done that are expensive, unless you have all the tools and know-how. For example, custom motor mounts, cutting/welding the frame rails, shock towers, firewall, etc. to make everything fit. It really depends on your budget... you can swap anything into anything with enough money
