Ok, I usually find my own answers, but it doesn't really help when there is no definitive answer.

Question: Can I use 300ZX stock struts for the knuckle conversion on my S13?

I've heard yes, I've heard no, maybe, coilover only. What is the right answer?

Bottom is z32 knuckle and top is s13 knuckle. You need fork type lower bracket to have z32 knuckle on your car. I doubt that z32 shocks will fit. I've never heard about it.

I am running 300zx rear shocks as I received them with my knuckles 5 lug and ebrake conversion. They bolt in but they do add to the ride hight as the 300zx is a heavier car the rear of the car is sitting noticably higher than it used to.

When I get coilovers I'm going to look for a set that has or can be converted to use a 300zx style mount.

SPL parts sells KTS coilovers for the s13 and s14 and you get the option when purchasing them if you would like the fork type mount in the rear for the z32 rear knuckle.

I have also called and spoken to SPL and you can buy the lower part of the coilovers separately if you choose to upgrade to the z32 knuckle down the road.

Which is what I'm planning on doing when I save up enough money to buy coilovers. Very nice place from my couple of phone calls I bugged them with. Plus the reviews place the coilovers as being pretty good for the money.

I read in a mag many moons ago that it would work, never seen anyone do it. Makes sense that the rear would sit too high haha.

I converted my uprights to the Z32's aluminum ones. And I got the megan coilovers and got the bottom piece that are meant for the Z32s mount.

Thanks everyone, I am saving up for coilovers but I have the option of getting a 300zx rear end first.

I'd get it if I were you. I got mine, saved it, then got all my rear suspension parts and installed everything at once. The uprights btw are MUCH lighter then the 240 ones.
