So I'm doing the hub and brake swap on my s13, when I realize the problem about using the aluminum upright to get the 7 pounds of unsprung weight, I have to special order my shocks. Because of the different mount for the shock on the bottom of the upright. My question is has anybody just unbolted the shaft of the strut to the upper mount? I got my micrometers out and measred the shaft they both are 12mm. I'm going to try it anyways, but if anybody has done it and it worked or not please write back. When I get done I will post back to let averybody know. I think this will be an easy alternative to the way SportCompactCar magazine did theirs. I'm going by the article they did last fall to do my swap, an by the way the uprights are aluminum and the rear diff is lsd on the non turbo 300. thanks guys Ike.:ylsuper

I see people reading but nobody answering. I took the shocks off the back of both vehicles and the mounts up top look identical. I finished up in the dark so I will take them both to the shop tomorrow and measure everything, lenght, bolt pattern, and so on but I see no reason why the 300zx's shocks won't bolt right up to the 240. I have a complete 94 300zx na that was recked in the front bad enough to bend the frame. but mechanically the car is sound this is what I'm taking the parts off of to do my swap. Any replies would be good, thanks Ike
