If you have a Z32 pan handy you could just measure the distance from the front of the part that drops down to the rear of the pan and you'll have a good idea of how much room is there. I can't help you out at the moment.

When I made my rear sump I basically used the rear half of the Z32 pan and it wrapped around the rack very nicely. My next attempt though I'm going to go aluminum I think and just ditch the monstrocity that I created earlier.

Anyways there isn't a whole lot of room to work with.

I did the same thing.

T45, haven't heard from you in a while. What's the word on your current project situation?

It's just sitting at the moment. I think I'm just going to get another VH, make a new oil pan, get a TT trans with Mazworx adapter and slap it back in. The trans was popping out in 4th gear and I'm over screwing with it. Hopefully around springtime I'll have enough money and free time to get it complete.

I still dream of it all the damn time, I only got to drive it for a day but it was one hell of a day. I can't wait to get it going again.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Look back at some of the pics of my second pan. You can make a much better Front sump pan then rear. I am holding a lil over 8 qts, and with its design the piickup is always under fluid, and took very little modding to pickup. Pan was not too bad either. Clears xmember and steering by less then 1/4 inch in all areas though. Solid mounts help it from hitting. Have never bottomd it or had an issue. There are 3 great examples of rear sump pans on here though. Nicks may be one of the cleanest examples.Craig

would be good if people could post up pics of the sump setups they are using on vh 300zx's. Searching the build up threads for specifics can get hard.

It looks strange baffle-wise but worked a treat when I tested it full of oil and tilted around. Also a large return hole. Unfortunately a small amount of oil will be trapped in that front bulge due to teh need to get the motor low on the xmember, however much less entrapment than the std z32 sump.I do have another but was made out of a std zed32 sump. However I see that you are a loong drive from my place:)
