Maybe this question would be better in the All Motor secion, but Technical gets read more =)

Anyway, What is the deal with this upgrade? Is it difficult to do? Anyone have a writeup/parts list?

Just cuz I dont know anything doesn't mean I wanna pay people like Daunttless to do everything.

its a good cheap mod i did it a few months ago, the fuel filter itself is cheaper than the one for the 240. i think it was $11 , you do feel a difference in your top end, it comes on a little stronger.

Does the SR20 use a fuel filter that can be swapped with the 300z? cuz i think it uses partly different fuel lines..

I never noticed a difference, as long as you fuel pressure is up to spec then you are not going to notice any difference. Any extra gas that does flow through there is going to be sent back to the tank through the return lines.

I have a question to pose to you Daunt, what symptoms does the 240 display when it's about due for a fuel filter and/or fuel pump? Upon listening to my car's engine note after coming to a stop it abruptly sounds shaky/jerky (as if it's about to choke off) and then it straightens out and idles fine after a few seconds. I know i am due for a fuel filter around 90k (as manuf. dictates i think) but i only have about 85k right now.

so what's up with that??

that could be your injectors also, but if you have 85k on your car and you have never replaced the fuel filter, you need to, they are only like $10 anyway, and run some injector cleaner through there. Maybe some lucas oil-gas treatment.

Hi, I was just wondering What exactly a 300zx fuel filter would do, performance wise. What about a 300zx fuel pump, if anybody can tell me it would be educational...

Thanks....

Some people just say that a 300zx fuel filter flows better, allowing for more gas more quickly, plus its bigger, so that could help. I did it, I didn't notice anything really performance wise.

A 300zx fuel pump is only worth buying if upgrade your injectors, but the stock injectors handle up to 200hp, so the only way you need a 300zx fuel pump is if your over 200hp or going turbo :)

Well Since I had a leaky fuel filter, and a cracked fuel line, I replaced the filter with a 92 300zx filter and a new piece of tubing. The filter doesn't really change anything, maybe a slight notice in throttle response, and a little on top, but I don't know, could be just me though...

NOT A WORTHY UPGRADE....UNLESS REPLACING/REPAIRING....

Thanks....
