I replaced mine because it was old and I was going KA-T. It was the same price as the 240sx filter at advanced auto. I figured if it was good enough for a 300ZX TT its good enough for the 2slowty. Don't know if it helps but its a bigger filter to trap harmfull crap. I also sometimes use a bigger ford oil filter, just because.

Yea my filter was sitting in the car for about 5 years, so I decided to change it to the 300zx one. It was a ***** to put in cause the old hoses were so hard to get off, but it feels the same as before, but hey, if its the same price or cheaper then the stock one then why not?

remember to twist and not pull on the hoses. and not to overtighten, or else you could cut the hoses like i did one time... and lost a full tank of gas which left me stranded

Yea, i ended up cutting one of the hoses. The one that goes from the metal fuel line to the under side of the filter. I had a foot of fuel line hose though, so i just put a new hose in it.

Ya, I did this too. Hoses were a *****, I almost just gave up and cut the old one out. It actually made a noticeable difference for me. It made it run slightly smoother over the whole rpm range, with a little more "umpf" at the top. Also, made the engine feel a bit more responsive.

what part #? FL1A..FL820-S...?

does it have a similar anti-drain valve built in like a nissan oil filter?

when I got mine, I got mine I asked for a '96 Nissan 300zx fuel filter, the guy looked it up and asked if I wanted NA or turbo, I just said turbo but I believe it is the same filter. I chose this one because I read a FAQ or something from the old site and that is what it recommended, don't know if there is any difference between the years. (my link doesn't work after the transition, otherwise I would post it.)
