I'm replacing the stock bose speakers in the front 2 doors with Scosche brand speakers. well, i went to google, and found that the front speakers are 6 1/2...well..i grabbed 5 1/4. my question is, can i still put the 5 1/4 speaker where the 6 1/2 went? Please reply quickly.

Thats pretty demanding for a newb. Use search it is your friend. You can use 5 1/4 but you will need a bracket.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-5-5-25-Univer ... 0855892666 basically something like that is what you need. Alpines overrated. These are my favorite speakers for the money http://store.crescendoaudio.com/pwx-6-5-mid-range/

That's a nice midrange, but if he's using a coax, that won't give him any highs. Components cost more and need to be amplified externally to get anything worth listening to out of them.

The Alpines fabbio25 listed are good, but a bit more than Scoche speaker price range. The Type S is a better value. I ran the previous version of these:

On my old DD and was happy with just HU power.

6.5 is the way to go if you can return the 5.25s. Otherwise, check out this guy:

And see if he'll make you a set for a 5.25" driver.
