There are 4 documents that are given to a car when it enters the US, these documents along with a list of Motorex legal R32s and any other info you could possibly need is on the web. Nico has a great article in the archive concerning the whole issue of importation of skylines as well as a skyline section. Spend a few days browsing these and you will get all of your answers and much much more. I was at one point looking at importing JDM EDM DDM etc (non USDM) cars, after reading the laws and spending damn near a month between the various forums, EPA, NHTSA, US CUstoms, and other websites I decided that I'd rather just wait until 2016, go to Japan, find me a nice N1 R32, buy it bring it back and be happy. Basically man the red tape and investment that it takes to import a vehicle is insane, this is why any Federalized skyline you find for sale in the states will run you about the same as a 4 year old Carrera 4S and as much as I LOVE the R32, R33, R34, and R35, there is no way I would buy a 20+ year old R32 over a 4 year old Porsche if it was going to cost me the same. Like I said, get your reading pants on so you don't get screwed over (like so many have been in the past).
