My 300zx was flooded yesterday, and I have taken off the intake plenum only to find what I dreaded... The valves are full of water, and so are the cylinders. I am trying to figure out how to crank the engine by hand to hopefully push uot any water that I can, but I am not sure how to do this. Also, all the electronics still work, and the starter acts like it does when the battery is dead. It just clicks, but acts like there's not enough power to turn over the engine. Do I just need a new starter? or is the engine just totally frozen? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

yikes! don't attempt to crank that engine w/ water in the combustion chamber!

just pull the plugs, get some siphon type hose & suck em out... I oppose trying to turn over the engine since i've heard that is not a good thing to do <hydrolocking?>

after u get most of the h2o out, just let it air dry overnight,

mebbe put a few squirts o oil as well into the combustion chamber to prevent any rusting, open the drain plug from the pan to see water rush out, then your old oil... ummm that's all i can think of...others will chime in.

auto transmission? change that oil out too...

Yeah, definately don't try to crank...Hydrolocking a motor will snap rods amongst other things..I have had a couple friends do this. Best think I can think of doing is, like ricebike said, get all the water out..and make sure it is all out. you have to be 120% positive all the water is out, then lube it with something...Best of luck..hope nothing is already broken.. A 300Z motor is a ***** to rebuild after something like that, Like I said, I had a friend do it!

I don't know about cars, but my old jet ski manual had directions if water got in the cylinder. It said to carnk it with starter after the plug had been pulled. after the water is out put the plug in and run a full tank of gas.
